We’re working on a new short film. “The Chapel” will be a short film paying a tribute to an exceptional chapel that turned into a ruin, sharing the fate of many other great sacred places.
The film makes use of the motion-controlled timelapse technique in order to capture the great detail of the building and also highlight the aspect of passing time giving much more universal meaning to the entire piece. We have actually shot a great part of footage we need – so far about 500GB and over 20 000 still images that are being processed before editing. Probably we’ll need a few more shootings to complete the quest.
This is also one of the first more serious productions that would use extensively a new piece of equipment for motion-controlled timelapse and video shots – a DriveCam™ Slider by DitoGear.
In order to make things clear – the DitoGear company is one of our businesses – to make a long story short, after the development of my first timelapse dolly and design plans of its follower, we partnered together with Robert to establish a new company and produce quality timelapse and video equipment. DriveCam™ Slider is our flagship and it is already available at DitoGear website.
Here are some stills from the movie. Enjoy.
And here are some more shots of our setup during the production of the film.

Looking forward to the movie.
Did you switch to English version? Our blog and site are bilingual.
The head is a Meade DS2000 – an astronomic mount adapted to timelapse.
looking forward to seeing the rest. Around 30grand still images, all of those probably processed with some decent presets, and still – totally amazing idea. This will look rather like some animation, I believe.
