This is a short film that we shot for a film competition “Film a poem” (“Nakręć wiersz”) that was organized by a polish contemporary literature publishing house, Biuro Literackie.

The goal of the competition was to encourage filmmakers to shoot a film illustrating the poetry of Tadeusz Różewicz, a well known Polish poet who has also been an unofficial Noble Prize candidate for some years now.

The poem we have got is titled “Gothic and Spring” (“Gotyk i Wiosna”) and is an expression of the fascination for the gothic architecture surrounded by an early spring landscape. That’s the essence and our main direction for shooting the film.

The film was shot during a few very cold, late-winter nights in Wroclaw, Poland, entirely in timelapse technique using Canon DSLR cameras and DitoGear™ OmniSliders.

The score and recitation was composed and performed by Damian Pielka, also known for his cooperation with Lech Janerka as well as his own music projects like Japoto band.

The film as not been qualified for the final competition therefore we decided to share it with the worldwide community.

We put a lot of work and heart to shoot this film and we really appreciate you spreading the word about it.
